Local Curling Events

Welcome!

My blog will follow different leagues and schedules, also include bonspiels, regional and provincial competitions that I participate in throughout the curling season. You will also find announcements on the up coming curling events and results around the Kootenay's. If you feel you would like your event posted here please let me know and I will look at posting it, or at least the link to it. I will include useful links such as Curl Bc's Bonspiel Calendar, Playdowns.com for competitive results and Sponsor links.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our competitive "Team Salviulo" sponsor;

SITKUM IT MANAGED SERVICES LTD,

 for their support and interest in the local curling scene.

I do welcome your comments or banter, you'll find that at the top of the page click on the 'Comment' link.

Have a terrific season and remember keep your fuzzy side down :)

2016  Doug Bothamley Memorial

Open Cash Spiel

Nov  25 -27

Douglas E. Bothamley

Jul 06, 1948 - Jul 06, 2015

"It's time to pit in"

Doug Bothamely spent countless hours in the rinks around the Kootenays promoting the sport, coaching competitive Junior and Ladies teams, as well as competing himself. There were few curling events where you wouldn’t see Doug, either on the ice competing or in the patch supporting the club socializing or on the dance floor making short order of his "dance card".  Who’s not going to miss his signature belly laugh that kept the atmosphere alive?  Doug exuded the spirit of curling.

A Total of 6 teams participated in the weekend event, where many games came down to the last stone, including the final round robin game between the Buchy rink (Kimberly) vs team Medford (Cranbrook) as Tom Buchy's razor thin shot past a long gaurd takes out Medfords shot rock to prevail in the 8-6 win.

2nd Kent (Cranbrook)
3rd Medford (Cranbrook)
